Gooseberries, let's spread the word!




Each week I try and bring something new into my diet, the world is full of exciting foods, flavours, colours and textures and it is so easy to fall into the trap of eating the same things!


Last week it was gooseberries! So I actually tried my first gooseberry on a check in call to a client! They are sharp and juicy but strangely moreish!


So why did I decide to try these little green pearls?


Well they are super good for you of course!


Benefits of gooseberries include being high in antioxidants and Vitamin C and E, being high in fibre and helping to slow the absorption of sugar into your bloodstream, preventing spikes in your sugar levels and also being high in potassium!


These little gems are not to everyone's taste on their own but can easily be sliced and added added yoghurt, salads, and they go really well with citrus flavours because of how tangy they are.


I'm looking forward to experimenting more with these little guys over the next week!
